Yoga Nidra, meaning “yogic sleep” is a deep meditation technique, allowing you to journey into a state of total stillness and conscious sleep. A guided meditation will transport you through various states of consciousness, making space for the mind and body to replenish and renew.
During this hour-long Yoga Nidra practice, Jenni will lead you though a guided meditation to allow you to explore a deep and restful state. Additional benefits of a Yoga Nidra practice can include reduced stress, more focus, lower blood pressure, and even better sleep.
A great practice to usher in the winter solstice to create peace and calm!
Before you come to your mat, you may want to think on a sankalpa, or a resolve, for your Yoga Nidra practice. During the practice you’ll be asked to think on this short affirmation, or intention. An example of a Sankalpa might be “I am content and find fulfillment in my life.” You’ll plant that resolve within your mind and carry it with you after the practice to continue to allow it to manifest in your life. Here are some more examples of Sankalpa on the Luna Nidra website.
Class is presented live on Zoom at 5pm PST on Sunday, December 20th, 2020. If you cannot attend the live class but would like to participate, a recording of the class will be provided for you to practice with during the week. Recording will remain active for 7 days after being posted.
Props: Mat or towel, blankets and pillows to get comfortable and grounded.
